A world where African people as well as everyone in every community is aware of the existence of HIV and the risk to mankind and how to prevent being infected and to establish good systems and structures to prevent prejudice, stigma and discrimination and good sexual health is a right and reality for all.

OUR MISSION

To promote and maximise sexual health in Brent, the United Kingdom and other parts of the world, and minimise the spread of HIV and STIs, by encouraging people to value their sexual health and by leading innovation to increase access to local sexual health services.

To support and empower Africans living with HIV to understand the importance of adherence to medication and to maximise their health and wellbeing by working to ensure the best possible HIV treatment and support services are available to them and accessed.

Take a leading role on all African HIV related issues and to eradicate stigma and discrimination.

CHAT'S OBJECTIVES

*To develop a team of employed and volunteer staff who are interested and committed to the values of the organisation, and are competent to work together to deliver the objectives.

*Build on our current status to be a recognised sexual health promotion organisation in the world.

*Build a good international project structure and community support.

*To establish effective governance arrangements monitored by a trained and established Executive Committee who will ensure that a competent management team deliver the business plan.

*To actively participate in and develop partnerships both locally, nationally and internationally to progress our organisational objectives.

*To promote the organisation’s work and reputation to ensure widespread recognition and support for our mission and values. Promote a positive view of sexual health and uptake of voluntary testing and to influence policy and social views that impact negatively on our HIV/AIDS service users.

*To secure funding to develop new and existing services, and to ensure that services are responsive to the views of service users and specific vulnerable groups in the community.

*To ensure staff performances are regularly monitored, assessed and evaluated periodically.
